After spending the month reading fairy tales and folk tales, Ann was delighted to discover more than a few stories in which women characters have agency, but exasperated that women (and girls!) are forever getting hit with the marriage plot, as though that were the solution to all problems and the goal of all women.  The story of Snow White and Rose Red could stand on its own, for example, but no, here comes marriage!  To a bear.  Who is of course magically a prince.  Amazing.
